Where is the nearest grocery store?
There are a few smaller grocery stores within a few miles of the house for quick trips, Hansen Foods in Hart is 20 minutes, and Walmart in Whitehall is 25 miles south.
How do you get to Lake Michigan from the house?
South Point by the Lake has private access to Lake Michigan approximately .3 miles from driveway to access point! Take a quick walk down the road (keeping an eye out for small fairies and gnomes living in the hills!) and in 10 minutes you will have your toes in the sand looking at the most magnificent view of Lake Michigan! There is a map available in the welcome book to help guide you to the water!
Please keep in mind that walking the beach from the water to the "high water mark" is allowable. If you want to spend time playing in the sand or lounging on the beach, there are multiple great options within a few miles!
The access to the lake is not handicap accessible. There is a hill, as well as stairs, to get from the road to the beach.
Once on the water's edge, take a one-mile stroll north and you will find yourself at Little Sable Point Lighthouse!
