Take a one-mile stroll north on the beach and you will arrive at Little Sable Point Lighthouse (the next attraction on our list!) Please note: this private access is meant for walks on the beach - if you want to lay a towel down, build sandcastles, etc, then keep scrolling to read about the other local beaches!
If you are looking for a livelier beach, Little Sable Point beach is your destination! It's a ten-minute drive from the lake house and a great family beach! You can even pay a small fee at the entrance if you want to climb the lighthouse!
Just one minute down the road from the lake house is this charming stop! Stob by and grab a fresh baked good, enjoy a fish boil dinner, or stroll through the beautiful lavender labyrinth (at its peak at the beginning of August).
The famous Mac Dune rides...just a five-minute drive from the lake house! Feel the wind in your hair, hear the history of the area, and keep your ears peeled for lots of great jokes and puns from your dune buggy guide! This is a must do attraction!
Looking to hit the greens? Benona Shores is a short drive (about 10 minutes) from the house! This executive golf course is known for fast, well-manicured greens and affordable prices...what more could you ask for?! Make sure to make your tee time in advance...they fill up fast!
Farmhouse Kitchen and Market is located on the 17th hole of Benona Shores. Enjoy fresh, handmade fare w/locally sourced ingredients at their cafe and bar. Dine inside in the beautiful atmosphere or on the deck overlooking the golf course. Reservations are highly recommended. They also offer take out.

Golden Sands is a 9 hole, par 4 golf course located 15 minutes from the house. The restaurant, the Bucket Bar, is loaded with fun for the family! Yard games, live music, and a vast selection of board games are available to enjoy while you wait for your food!
Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo is approximately 15 minutes away and a great experience for all ages! They feature many exotic animals, fun games, and experiences (Want to get up close with a sloth?)! In the summer you can enjoy the splash pad (and maybe even a zinnia field!) and in the fall, they have corn mazes, apples, and more!
Got the winter blues? Enjoy a day at Gold Rush Indoor Waterpark located at Double JJ Resort about 20 minutes from the house!
A 45-minute drive from the house and you will be able to experience one of only four luge tracks in the country! Not into luge? No worries, you can enjoy cross country skiing, ice skating, and more in the winter! And what about summer?! You can still experience the wheel luge track or try your hand at archery, a climbing wall, or the hiking trails!

Michigan's Adventure...it's two parks for the price of one! Just 30 minutes away from the house is a day full of thrills and fun! Enjoy the roller coasters and rides of the amusement park and when you are ready to cool down, throw on your bathing suit and head into the waterpark for even more fun!
